Desperate to find nursing care for a very ill family member, a local woman called Chantal Coffy.  
It was a turning point in the entire family's life. .
"Chantal went beyond anything we could have expected," the grateful client said. "She was in constant communication with us. She was wonderful.
I don't use the word 'angel' lightly,"  
the woman continued, "but she was an angel to me, at a time of incredible sadness and stress. If not for Chantal,
   
 I don't know how I would have made it through."

We tend to think of them as compliant, passive women with low self-esteem who are in denial about their situation, but this stereotype could not be farther from the truth.

The news is reporting today that “SAT tests are now being updated to reflect what kids really learn now in high school.” I read about this yesterday and read that they are getting rid of the essay portion of the SAT’S, or, more specifically, make the essay portion “optional.”  Immediately when I hear it discussed on news radio, the comic and television comedy writer in me writes and says “the essay portion is being replaced with texting.  That’s what we call a punch line.

Every year, nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner. 1 in 3 adolescents in the U.S. is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner, a number that far exceeds other types of youth violence. 1 in 10 high school students has been purposefully hit, slapped or hurt by a boyfriend or girlfriend. 1 in 4 high school girls have been victims of physical or sexual abuse. Approximately 70% of college students say they have been sexually coerced.
